Fred D. Lang is the president of Exergetic Systems. He has 50 years experience in power plant engineering. Lang was the sole originator of both the PEPSE and THERM programs, used by electric utilities around the world for simulating turbine cycles. He enjoys a national reputation for development of innovative software, testing methodology and performance monitoring techniques. He holds over 3 dozen U.S., European, Australian and Canadian patents in applied thermodynamics and power plant instrumentation. He has authored over 8 dozen technical articles. As a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers he has been honored for outstanding contributions to the literature of thermal electric station practice. He is a graduate nuclear engineer and has advanced degrees in mechanical engineering and business. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California (mechanical and nuclear) and in British Columbia.
